The YouTube personality has been recognized as the creator of a type of YouTube videos that centers on costly stunts. His main YouTube channel, "MrBeast", is the fifth-most-subscribed on the platform. Donaldson posted videos to YouTube at 13 under the name "MrBeast6000". His first content was a mix of Let's Plays and video estimating the wealth other YouTubers. He became a viral sensation in 2017 thanks to his "Counting to 100,000", video that received thousands of hits in a few days. Once his channel took off, Donaldson hired several of his former classmates to assist him in running the growing business. The MrBeast channel had a subscriber count of 60 by 2022.
